If you're concerned with fire, particularly around small children, battery-operated candles are perfect for the table setting! Lower decorations minimize the risk of anyone knocking anything over. The leaves are also convenient because you can set plates and dishes on top of them without much worry!

To tie the entire tablescape together, you can also take the same leaves and write everyone's name on them for use as name cards. You can also have everyone write something they are thankful for on each of the leaves for a more personalized centerpiece.

You can never go wrong with using flowers for an elegant centerpiece. Whether you prefer fresh, dried, or even silk flowers (perfect for anyone with allergies and they can be reused over and over again), you can customize this look however you'd like. If you feast together with multiple tables, small bud vases are an easy way to add a little elegance everywhere without worrying about taking up to much room. Add seasonal gourds or artificial leaves to turn traditional flowers into a more seasonal tablescape.

If you have small pumpkins and gourds leftover from the season, you should definitely implement them in your Thanksgiving decor, including the centerpiece. If you want to do something a little bit different than lining them up along the table, gather your gourds together in whatever kind of container or bowl you already have at home. For a warm, rustic feel, maybe use a basket. For a more whimsical approach to holiday decorating, you can display your gourds in something as simple as a colander!

Seasonal Potpourri

Here is another option for anyone looking for a more natural, minimalist approach to a Thanksgiving centerpiece. Add a touch of color and some light fragrance to your Thanksgiving meal by displaying some seasonal potpourri in bowls or baskets on your table. If you don't want to purchase premade potpourri, you can try making your own arrangement using dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, pinecones, and anything else that tickles your fancy!

Yes, while it's typically too cold in November to enjoy your holiday meal outside (we can dream!), you can still bring that rustic, country charm inside. If a picnic table in the backyard is out of the question, swap out your typical table runner for a piece of burlap or a similar fabric. Swap out traditional candlesticks for some lanterns. If you decide to use real candles, the lantern will help mitigate any potential hazards of having open flames at the table. For something with a little more whimsy, swap out candles for some battery-operated fairy lights!
