Having opened in March of 2015, North Slope Brewing Company—located at 33 Tunkhannock Hwy in Dallas, PA—local residents are treated to locally made food and beer at this Craft Beer and Gastropub.

When the Back Mountain feels like home, open a brew pub!

The story of how North Slope was created is a really beautiful one, if you ask me. Owners Sam and Vanessa Warren came to the area to meet with Vanessa’s family (Vanessa’s a Dallas native). Sam was immediately reminded of his hometown, which was located near the south end of the Appalachians.

The couple decided to pair their love of beer and farm-to-table dinning to create the Back Mountain’s first brew pub. Their menu is made with ingredients from local farms, and they used local companies in the construction of their brew pub. Their bread is sourced from the Bakehouse and their honey from the Beekeeper’s Daughter—all local names you’ll recognize if you’re a local.

Their head brewer, Richard Lupi, owns Northeast Hydroponics and Homebrewing in Dickson City. Interestingly, all three have home addresses in NY, but they all share a passion for and connection to NEPA. The Warrens own a home in Dallas and spend most weekends there with their family, for example.

The Warrens come from a background of restaurant ownership and they always loved the idea of opening something in the old Dough Company, where North Slope is now located. They named their brew pup after Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood and Northeastern Pennsylvania, both places where they’ve laid their roots.

Each day of the week brings something new to North Slope

On top of their farm-to-table menu, North Slope offers some great themed nights throughout the week. On Monday, they hold a burger night that features a $5 pub burger, $5 wing bites, and $3 beer. Wednesday nights during the summer they hold trivia at 7pm, and every Thursday (except for the last Thursday of the month [they have trivia then!]) they hold and Open Mic, and Sunday-Saturday they have brunch with live music on Sunday from 4-7 pm.

Their menu offers a variety of farm-fresh options ranging from refreshing salads to power packed quinoa bowls. On Fridays, they feature a special lunch combo meal for just $10.95 where you can pick your main and a side, then add a dessert for $2.99 more, if you like.

They have a running 10 taps of beer that change with the seasons, and they also sell Nimble Hill’s wine year-round, and a select cocktail menu. Plus, there’s a Bloody Mary Bar and Mimosas available during weekend brunch!
