Here & Now is located at 645 Main St. in Honesdale, and they opened their doors in summer of 2017. They have been serving locally-made beer and food to the community since then. This month, we made the drive to try out what they have to offer.

Here & Now breathes life into a historic Honesdale building

Main St. in Honesdale is booming with businesses, and one of the most recent additions is Here & Now Brewing Company. Here & Now opened in a building that was once home to Woolworth’s Five and Dime and Country Dawn.

The building still features a beautiful tin ceiling—one that is part of the space’s original décor—and exposed brick walls that really set the tone for the brewery’s atmosphere. The brewery holds live music as well, and who doesn't love a side of live music with a pint of good beer?

Their mission is to provide “World-class beer for the people of Honesdale and whoever happens to be coming through.”

Food and drinks offer something for everyone

Here & Now's menu offers something for everyone—from salads and small plates to some really creative pizzas and sides. Everything compliments their beer selection wonderfully, in my opinion.

Both their beer and their food are made from locally-sourced ingredients, supporting the local farms in the area. Their beers are crafted to be seasonal and they have consistent brews that are available year-round.

I opted to order a flight of beer so that I could try a little of everything—I specifically ordered the stout but told the waitress to pick my other beers. I told her what flavors I liked, she delivered, and I enjoyed everything she picked for me. They serve their flights in mini mason jars, which is so fun, and you can choose as many beers as you like for your flight.

As for food, we started with their duck fries which were incredible—they’re served with a garlic aioli and are perfectly crispy. For our main dish, we ordered The Kelsey in the Woods pizza, which was topped with shiitake goat cheese and caramelized onion garlic sausage. I left feeling full and very happy with everything I had, and I will certainly be back for more.

Here & Now is definitely going to be added to my list of regular brewery visits, and I highly recommend that you make the trip and give them a try. They’re well worth the drive!
